"You are More Than Just a Body."
For print Issue 2 of The Muse, Sam Cohen, a content team editor, and I wrote a story regarding eating disorder awareness and the lack of resources provided on campus for students suffering in silence. Through interviewing experts to receive professional and credible data and statistics, students who currently are struggling with or have recovered from eating disorders, and surveying 870 students on campus, we were able to craft a piece that chants the alarming need for increased awareness on eating disorders. This story was selected to be the cover story for Issue 2.

The Role They Play
For print Issue 3 of The Muse I wrote a story regarding gender identity on my school's campus and how it either incentivizes or discourages students seeking to obtain leadership roles. For this story, I rewrote it in a matter of 24 hours in order to reinterview the two students I featured. Both students featured identify as non-binary and they shared their senior and freshman experience. During my re-interview, I set it up as a discussion where I would pose a question and open it up for response to both students. What happened was they would build off of eachother's ideas and comments, broadening the discussion and forming links between their stories.

Sound of Music
The Prism concert is a highly anticipated event that is organized and performed by the music department, combining the talents of vocalists and instrumentalists. The stage of Dreyfoos Hall came to life with the holiday colored lights that illuminated the over 400 student performers. For the story, I wanted to highlight the work of both students on stage and behind the curtain in order to capture the magnitude of planning and preparation that went into making this concert a reality.

Truths Found in Ethereal Realms
This movie review was published on The Muse website. After seeing Pixar’s animated film “Soul,” I felt prompted to share my thoughts on the plot, character development, art style, and Black representation. This was my first time writing a review, and it acted as a learning curve to present my thoughts in a concise and digestible format.
